It is very satisfying to realise how many people are reading our blog. When guests arrive they often mention things they  have  read about  and we get lots of requests for a Marigold egg.  We must there fore make sure we regularly add new entries and let you know what we have been doing.

We have been busy the last couple of weeks.  Between guests John has been away to Scotland on his motor bike with “the boys”.  I have been to London and Cambridge  visiting family.

We have had lots of visitors recently and there is always something to do – getting the rooms ready, making bread and cakes for afternoon teas and keeping the garden looking attractive.

Last night we had Americans here and they loved the English Country Garden!  We looked up the flowers that are mentioned in the song of the same name and found daffodils, heartsease, phlox,  meadow sweet, ladies smocks, gentian, lupin, hollyhock, roses, foxglove, snowdrops and for-get-me-nots, most of which flower in the garden at sometime during the year.
